Indiana Task Force 1 will deploy to assist with search and rescue efforts in Mayfield, Kentucky, where a deadly tornado struck Friday evening.

"At least dozens" are believed to be dead at a Mayfield candle factory, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear shared Saturday morning — part of what could be the state's deadliest tornado event in state history, the Courier Journal reported.

About 45 task force personnel will be leaving Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon.

Tornadoes and severe weather wreaked devastation across multiple states, including Tennessee, Illinois and Arkansas.

Indiana Task Force 1 has helped with nationwide disasters in the past, most recently deploying to Surfside, Florida in June after the deadly Champlain Towers collapse.
