Maria Carmen Vuittonet, age 87 of Tippecanoe, IN went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 21, 2022 while in the care of her family.
On December 19, 1934, she was born the daughter of Vincente Espenosa and Antonia Rodriguez in Robstown, TX. She was married on May 31, 1953 to Ernesto Vuittonet, and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2003.
Maria will be missed by her daughters: Juanita Lambert of Plymouth, IN; Zulema (Hal) Shafer of Tippecanoe, IN; Alma Rosa Vuittonet (Larry Berndt) of Tippecanoe, IN; Margarita (Henry) Espinosa of Tippecanoe, IN; her sons: Jose Vuittonet of Tippecanoe, IN; Homero (Vicki) Vuittonet of DeLong, IN; Vicente Vuittonet of Inwood, IN; Victor (Kim) Vuittonet of Milford, IN; and Ernesto, Jr. (Marta) Vuittonet of Vanderbilt, TX. She was blessed with thirty-three grandchildren; seventy-two great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Maria Ester (June 30, 1958); her son, Martin Vuittonet, Sr. (July 27, 2004); great grandsons: Austin Martin Vuittonet (November 26, 2008); and Jeremy Denver Green; along with five sisters and two brothers.
Maria worked as a janitor at Triton Elementary School and Grace Village Retirement Community in housekeeping. She loved making jewelry, shopping, Grace Village art classes, collecting cardinals, growing plants “with a green thumb” but most of all her family. She was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw and a member of the Cursillo Movement in her church.
The family will welcome friends to remember Maria on January 26, 2022 during the hours of 10:00 a.m. until Noon and then again from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home (115 S. Main St. Bourbon, IN 46504).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church (125 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, IN 46580) with Father Jonathan officiating. Burial will follow in Tippecanoe Cemetery (Tippecanoe, IN).
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in her memory.
