Mike Hoffman Surprised By Former Governor Mitch Daniels

SOUTH BEND, IN - It’s the end of an era in Michiana as WNDU’s Chief Meteorologist Mike Hoffman will retire Next Week.

Tuesday WNDU 16 News Now surprised Mike with a visit from both his Wife Cindy, as well as a special message from Former Governor and Purdue University President, Mitch Daniels who offered Mike a special trip to his alma matter Purdue to watch the 2021 Old Oaken Bucket Game from the Presidential Suite. In an earlier article from WNDU Mike said, “I’ve been the Chief Meteorologist here at WNDU for almost 27 years, which is still kind of amazing to me. I replaced an institution, Dick Addis, who was here at channel 16 for over 28 years. I doubt that there are more than a handful of stations around the world that have had only two Chief Meteorologists in the past 55 years. And this may be the only place that’s happened, I don’t think they keep records for that sort of thing.
