Santa Starts the Holiday Season in Plymouth, Indiana!

PLYMOUTH, IN - The cold conditions didn’t keep Santa from ringing in the Holiday Season in Downtown Plymouth on Saturday, November 27th.

The Traditional Parade of Lights has many groups from the Plymouth Police to two different Dance Groups, Motorcycles and Floats, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus being driven in on one of the Plymouth Fire Trucks!

The Parade started at Adams Street and went down Michigan Street where many people gathered to watch. It then went on to LaPorte Street and ended in River Park Square.


When Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived at River Park Square, they were greeted by a crowd of happy families. They greeted people and even stopped to take a selfie or two.


The Claus’s then joined Mayor Mark Senter who welcomed them to Plymouth! The Mayor went on to thank everyone that helped make tonights event and other upcoming Christmas Activities possible:

  • Both the Plymouth Police Department and Plymouth Fire Department for bringing Santa and Mrs. Claus to Plymouth

  • Laura Mann and Abby Collins for arranging the event

  • Zentis for putting a banner on N Michigan Street to thank everyone and say Seasons Greetings

  • Lowes for the Santa House

  • House of Prayer for providing Hot Chocolate

  • Wonderland for the Music

The Mayor and Claus’s then started the countdown for Christmas Tree Lighting! It as well as many other lights in River Park Square lit-up at the count of 0.


Other Holiday Events include a Photo With Santa Day on December 5th from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Conservation Club House sponsored by Centier Bank. There will be Photo Time with Santa, Crafts, Baked Cookies and of course Milk!


Next on December 19th from 11 AM to 1 PM there will be a Christmas Cookie Exchange at the Webster Center. For this event they that that you bring two dozen cookies, brownies, or bars to share (seasonal cookies are encouraged), then using your container you brought to the event you will select new treats. They ask that you also include your name and a recipe for your treats!

Finally on December 21st at 6:00 PM at the Webster Center there will a Movie Night showing “Elf”. They ask that you bring your own chairs, blankets, pillows, snacks, and drinks to the event.
